The Super Delegate Shuffle

So it turns out that if it comes down to a back room kinda thing to decide the Democratic candidate, there aren't that many APIAs in that smoke-filled place . . . representation out of 2000 plus delegates currently at less than 1%

Let's look at who's committed so far:

Clinton:
Mona Pasquil (CA) - party activist
Kamil Hasan - fundraiser

Obama:
MN State Senator Mee Moua (love her!)

Undecided:
Rep. Mike Honda (CA) - has stated he will not endorse as DNC Vice Chair
Rep. Mazie Hirono (HI)
Senator Dan Akaka (HI)
Rep. David Wu (OR)
Taling Taitano (Gaum)
Cecilia Mafnas (Gaum)
Antonio Charfauros (gaum)
Keith Umemoto (CA) - former APIA Caucus Chair and
Belkis Leong-Hong (MD) - DNC APIA caucus Chair
Mona Mohib (MD) - Party activist

Also interesting is who is on the different Convention Standing Committees - this might seem sorta Murphy's Law-ish, but they are the ones who are going to determine the nitty gritty of who gets to be seated, etc.

These lists are FAR more diverse -from the chairs on down.

Credentials - Iman Malik Mujahid, Sound Vision Foundation Inc., the largest Islamic multimedia company in the United States
Leila Sahar - college student and DNC intern

Platform - Smita Shah, Spaan Technologies,
California State Comptroller John Chiang
San Fran District attorney Kamala Harris

Rules - Chaired by Sunita Leeds, Chair of DNC Indo-American Leadership Council Advisory Board
Boston city Councilor Sam Yoon
Evan Low, Council Member in Campbell, California
